About NSS
National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class in schools and UG/PG in colleges through participation in various government led community service activities and programmes.
NSS Activities
- Village adoption and rural development programmes
- Blood donation camps organized twice a year
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan – cleanliness drives
- Tree plantation and environmental awareness
- Adult literacy and digital literacy programs
- Health and hygiene awareness camps
- National Integration Camp (NIC) participation
How to Join NSS
- Open to all UG and PG students of the college
- Register with the NSS Programme Officer at the beginning of academic year
- Minimum 240 hours of community service required over 2 years
- NSS certificate issued to students completing required hours
